A Shower of Love!

Gretchen's baby shower, generously put on by Emily, Emily, Jayme and Karen was this past weekend and it was absolutely beautiful! The day was perfect, the food was delicious and hanging out with everyone was so much fun. The outpour of love for Charlotte is just amazing already!! It is clear to see that she is already a loved baby and she isn't even here yet!! We had a great time this weekend organizing and finishing up getting her room ready. Our final essential purchase, the carseat, was made on Sunday so now we are "ready."
We would love to take this chance to express our extreme gratitude to everyone in our lives who are making this time so special and important to us. We are so excited to meet Charlotte April and share her and our experiences with her with all of you!!

We had our 4 D ultrasound today and it was quite an experience. Charlotte was moving around the whole time and we could see her putting her hands to her face and kicking her legs alot. She also gave us quite a few smiles and smirks! They gave us several pictures including one where her eye and mouth are open and her hand is up by her face, giving the appearance that she is very angry and about to hit someone! Let's hope thats not a predictor of her attitude. The technician said her measurements looked good and that she is continuing to be about a week larger than her gestational age. We may be having this baby a little early apparently!! Either that or she is just on the large side. :)

Its the Most Wonderful Time of the Year!

A pregnant woman's dream - the arrival of the Girl Scout Cookies!!! I am hoping that these boxes will last through the next two and a half months, but I'm almost positive they won't. :)

The Room is Almost Ready!!

A special thank you goes out to Uncle Adam for helping Bryan put together Charlotte's crib (which conviently came without directions) and carrying the dresser (which wonderfully came to our house already put together!) up the stairs and into her room! We really feel like we are getting more prepared for her arrival and just have to start filling her dresser with all the cute clothes she has, diapers, wipes and everything else we'll need when she gets here. All we need is a chair for the corner and we'll be ready to go. For now, we each take turns walking into the room and just standing in the middle looking around, feeling so lucky that our little one will be here soon!

Here are some pictures of our little girl! We may be biased, but we think she looks really cute!! Next week we have a 4D ultrasound scheduled, so we might get a better idea of what she really looks like!

Another Ultrasound!

We had our third ultrasound today and were able to confirm that the baby is, indeed most definitly a little girl. She is still about a week bigger than expected (Gretchen is 27 weeks and the baby measures at 28 weeks and 3 days), but seems to be doing great. She weighs about 2 lbs and 10 oz and her heart rate is 140 beats a minute, which is apparently very good. We got to see her sucking her thumb, moving her arms and legs around and even peeing!! The technician laughed and told us that she had never actually seen that happen before.

The crib was delivered today so hopefully we will be finishing up the nursery soon! Stay tuned for some more pictures, we'll try to get one of the ultrasound up as soon as possible!
